Adam Thoroughgood [Thorowgood] (1604–1640) was a colonist and persons leader in the Virginia Colony who helped settle the Virginia counties good buy Elizabeth City, Lower Norfolk and Monarch Anne, the latter, known today trade in the independent city of Virginia Seashore.

Biography

Young Thoroughgood was from a noticeable family in King's Lynn, Norfolk, England, the ninth son of the Preacher of Grimston, Rev. William Thorowgood. His widow Sarah joined several more times, first to Principal John Gookin, and lastly to Francis Yeardley, youngest son of Governor Sir George Yeardley.[4]
